Photos on 1GB Memory
Memory card is a storage device that is commonly used by digital cameras to write digital photos. These photos can later be transferred to computer, for processing and printing. So, basically the size of the memory card directly influences the number of images that can be stored and the speed of the memory card directly influences the speed with which the camera can read and write photos.
The two types of memory cards are the compact flash and secure digital, which are improving their speeds dramatically, to keep up with the high megapixel counts. A faster memory card enables to take a second shot sooner and quicker download to the computer.
When the memory is larger, more images can be recorded at one time and a higher resolution image also requires more memory. When the resolution is higher, the more space is used to store the photo and the less number of photos in the memory card.
Memory cards are reusable and a person can buy as many cards as he can, to have unlimited external capacity for the camera. The numbers of pictures that can be saved on these memory cards depend on the capacity of the card and the image file sizes.
There are different types of memory cards for digital cameras such as compact flash, xD picture cards, memory stick micro drive, smart drive, card readers, portable digital storage and many more.
