Buying 1 GB Memory

By | August 19, 2009

Memory is one of the main components of a computer to run effectively and if the memory is more, the computer would work better. Today, most of the computers come with a minimum of half a giga byte of memory but it is better to purchase a system with one GB of memory to make it work faster.

The memory utility of the computer depends upon the operating system being used because windows XP would be happy enough with one GB of memory but Windows vista and Mac OS X Leopard operating systems are comparatively memory hungry and require one GB for good performance and two GB to run at top speed.

Buying as much memory as can be afforded is always advisable since it makes the system work to the optimum and maintains it well. One vital aspect that can be followed is to initially buy the minimum memory needed and then buy extra memory components called memory sticks from memory sites. This is very cost effective and can save as much as two hundred dollars.

Normally, low end computers come with low amounts of RAM and while buying a computer, the availability has to be checked as it would be able to handle as high as four GB of memory.

The memory is the deciding factor in determining how rapidly the system can process the information which is very useful in ensuring that the brand new machine does not run slow.
