Computer Memory 1GB
The memory of a computer is the brain of the computer and sometimes, it so happens that the speed of the computer slows down, due to insufficient memory. But, it is possible to upgrade the memory of the computer and there are various types of memory and so, it is advisable to verify the type of memory your computer is compatible with.
Random access memory or RAM of the computer is of various types such as DDR1, DDR2, and SD and so on and the size of the memory is vital in running the computer efficiently. The type of operating system used is also influential in determining the amount of memory of the computer.
For instance, Windows XP will support up to 4 GB of memory and a fairly recent computer would be satisfied with running 2GBs of memory. But, every day, newer technologies and applications emerge and when they need to be applied on the computer, the size of RAM would have to be increased, eventually.
The sixty four bit version of Windows XP already supports up to 16 GBs of RAM and so does windows vista. When such large memory is available, it would be possible to create more diverse range of applications to run on the computer.
In addition, for running simple activities of internet access, word processing and other few activities, 1 GB of memory is enough and for entertainment centre and gaming arcade, more RAM will be needed. So, whenever a computer slows down, the first thing to be tested is the memory of the computer.
